Hickory sits in the sweet spot. Maple is lighter and faster but breaks more easily under hard play. Oak is extremely dense but heavy. Hickory gives you the perfect balance of strength, density, and shock absorption — which is exactly why it's the most widely used drumstick wood in the world.

Amazing sticks
I think I've found my new go-to stick! Of all the major brands I've played, these 5Bs show less wear and tear after a gig... fewer chips, dents, dust on the drum rug, etc. I especially like the red rings. I use them as a guide to get a great rim click sound!
The length, taper, and weight distribution on these sticks are great! I can tell they are very durable too.

Here is part of my collection of "dead soldiers". Only started playing just over a year ago and was burning through sticks at a high rate. Sawdust and wood chips collecting on my drums and floor. These Woodies have been going at it hard for a while now and show very little wear at all. I love them!

I've played a lot of drumsticks these definitely feel natural in the hand all the pairs I got had amazing balance and consistency i did have to get use to them since I usually don't play long but didn't take all at all I'd honestly rather play these sticks over vic firth pro mark and vater also the tips are surprisingly articulate on cymbals and drums I'll be sticking with these so amazing balance stick articulation and durability is really good especially since I play hard and crazy with the band im in it's one less thing I have to worry about while on tour perfect job guy's
They're cheaper than the competition and AT LEAST as good. Loving them so far. Good balanced pairs and seem hold up well

I’m on show #3 with the same pair of sticks and honestly can’t believe it. I’m a hard hitter, and these have genuinely changed the game for me. Getting used to the slightly heavier weight, but I love them and can’t wait to keep telling people about them.

I play drums for my church worship team every Sunday and tried the 5B sticks out . Don’t let the “long “ name designation fool you , these are perfect not too long to mess up your set up and hit and snag on drum rims and what not . And they’re durable , I played for an hour and they held up perfectly. Balance is fantastic the weight is where it needs to be . It feels like I’m breaking up with Vic Firth and pro mark after thirty plus years of drumming, however, you got to go with the superior product and that’s Woodies . Thank you!

I received three pairs of 5B Long. Four sticks feel great but two were a bit green. This is common though. I’ll probably buy again.
Less hand fatigue due to the larger diameter. Great bounce on the mesh heads unlike the previous sticks I’ve used. Left a pair for the other drummer to try.

I have only used the Woodies sticks a couple of times so far. First impression is good. Getting used to the slightly longer length at first but nothing more than an couple of times around the kit didn't fix. The feel is a bit different from the Promarks I am used to but nothing that would detour me from buying Woodies again. I think the finish is a bit "slicker" than I'm used to. The consistency in the sticks, the quality of the wood, and the length and tip size were great. Personally, I’m not a fan of the shorter taper as I like a heavier handle rather than room much forward momentum but otherwise I really like these drumsticks! They feel like they will last through a lot of hard hitting too. Well done.

Best sticks I have ever used. They fit, feel and perform beautifully. Durability is probably the most striking thing to me about these sticks compared to other name brands. These stix are unbelievable, been smashing them for three weeks and they barely have a dent in them.
I haven't had much playing time since getting my Woodies, but so far they are great! Definitely can tell they are more dense (heavier) which translates to less effort needed to play. They've also stood up well (so far) to the hard cymbal crashes.
These sticks are fantastic! To be honest I was never completely comfortable using 5B sticks before. But the woodies 5B sticks will be part of my drumming tool kit for now on. In fact I even purchased some pairs and gave them to drummer friends of mine.
