North American Hickory is the gold standard for drumstick wood — and for power players, nothing comes close. It's dense enough to take a beating night after night, tough enough to handle hard hitters, and consistent enough that every pair feels exactly the same in your hands.
Our 5B Long is built for drummers who need more — more power, more projection, more durability. The 0.59" diameter and short taper give you a front-weighted feel that puts force behind every hit without sacrificing control.

WHICH STICK IS YOURS?
Same hickory, same length, same short taper. Pick the weight, then pick the tip.
Round, barrel and nylon are the same stick with a different tip. Same length, same weight, same hickory. Every model has a short taper: more weight up front, more power, quicker rebound.
GOT QUESTIONS?
The 5B is thicker and heavier than the 5A — 0.59" diameter vs 0.57". That extra mass gives you more power and volume behind every hit. If you're a hard hitter or play loud genres like rock, metal, or gospel, the 5B is your stick.
Rock, metal, hard gospel, punk, and any genre where you need volume and power. The 5B is the go-to for drummers who play loud and need a stick that can keep up without breaking down every other session.
Yes! Free shipping on all orders over $70. The 6-pack gets you there easily. Or go for a Brick (12-pack) and stock up right.
At 4.5 oz per pair, the 5B is heavier than a 5A but still very playable for long sessions. The hickory absorbs shock well, reducing wrist fatigue. If you're used to a 5A and switching up, give yourself a session or two to adjust — you won't go back.
Hickory sits in the sweet spot. Maple is lighter and faster but breaks more easily under hard play. Oak is extremely dense but heavy. Hickory gives you the perfect balance of strength, density, and shock absorption — which is exactly why it's the most widely used drumstick wood in the world.

I have used promark and various others for over 30 years. With no B.S. ... these long 5B round Wood tips are the best and most versatile stick I have ever used. Everything from the way they feel, to the finish and paint, to the rebound...most solid and consistent choice for a rock drummer. Please don't change formulas. Don't change anything.
I think I've found my new go-to stick! Of all the major brands I've played, these 5Bs show less wear and tear after a gig... fewer chips, dents, dust on the drum rug, etc. I especially like the red rings. I use them as a guide to get a great rim click sound!
Here is part of my collection of "dead soldiers". Only started playing just over a year ago and was burning through sticks at a high rate. Sawdust and wood chips collecting on my drums and floor. These Woodies have been going at it hard for a while now and show very little wear at all. I love them!
I've played a lot of drumsticks these definitely feel natural in the hand all the pairs I got had amazing balance and consistency i did have to get use to them since I usually don't play long but didn't take all at all I'd honestly rather play these sticks over vic firth pro mark and vater also the tips are surprisingly articulate on cymbals and drums I'll be sticking with these so amazing balance stick articulation and durability is really good especially since I play hard and crazy with the band im in it's one less thing I have to worry about while on tour perfect job guy's
I’m on show #3 with the same pair of sticks and honestly can’t believe it. I’m a hard hitter, and these have genuinely changed the game for me. Getting used to the slightly heavier weight, but I love them and can’t wait to keep telling people about them.
These are the absolute best sticks ever! I purposely played with them in a manner where they should have snapped and splintered and they didn’t. They are unbreakable !!
The 5B Longs were my first choice at woodies. They're durable, feel good in the hands, they don't get slippery and they play really well. I highly recommend woodies sticks over any name brand stick.
I play drums for my church worship team every Sunday and tried the 5B sticks out . Don’t let the “long “ name designation fool you , these are perfect not too long to mess up your set up and hit and snag on drum rims and what not . And they’re durable , I played for an hour and they held up perfectly. Balance is fantastic the weight is where it needs to be .
It feels like I’m breaking up with Vic Firth and pro mark after thirty plus years of drumming, however, you got to go with the superior product and that’s Woodies . Thank you!
Woodies Drumsticks are literally the best drumsticks I have ever used in my 37 years of drumming!!!
Perfectly balanced, consistent, incredible feel, and super durable!!!! They will not break!!!
Please check them out and buy a pair today!!! You will be so glad you did
Less hand fatigue due to the larger diameter. Great bounce on the mesh heads unlike the previous sticks I’ve used. Left a pair for the other drummer to try.
I have only used the Woodies sticks a couple of times so far. First impression is good. Getting used to the slightly longer length at first but nothing more than an couple of times around the kit didn't fix. The feel is a bit different from the Promarks I am used to but nothing that would detour me from buying Woodies again. I think the finish is a bit "slicker" than I'm used to. Over all a good rating for feel but more time will tell me more about the durability of the Woodies sticks!!

I love the feel. Balanced and decent weight. My first gig Is nye with these new sticks. I would like more info on your program so I can start advertising them
The consistency in the sticks, the quality of the wood, and the length and tip size were great.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the shorter taper as I like a heavier handle rather than room much forward momentum but otherwise I really like these drumsticks! They feel like they will last through a lot of hard hitting too. Well done.
It was an amazing night awesome show and to know that I’m taking a stage and playing with Woodie’s 5B long sticks gives me a level of confidence and awareness, knowing that the tough and the structure of the stick is gonna hit with consistent every time.
Best sticks I have ever used. They fit, feel and perform beautifully. Durability is probably the most striking thing to me about these sticks compared to other name brands. I am a chopper on the hi hat and they hold up very well without breaking or splitting on the tips. Simply the best. Appreciate it and keep up the great work.
