BARREL
Fuller & Warmer
More surface contact, fuller drum tone, richer cymbal wash. More volume per hit. Perfect for live settings and drummers who need a bigger sound.
ROUND
Focused & Articulate
Precise, defined attack. Cleaner cymbal tone with less wash. Better for studio work and situations where tight articulation matters most.
GOT QUESTIONS?
Same 5B hickory body — the only difference is the tip shape. Barrel tips have a wider surface area that produces a fuller, warmer drum tone and richer cymbal wash. Round tips are smaller and more precise, giving you tighter articulation. For live settings where volume and warmth matter, barrel wins.
Slightly lighter actually — the 5B barrel comes in at 4.4 oz vs 4.9 oz for the round tip. The feel and balance remain very close to the standard 5B Long, with the main difference being the warmer, fuller sound from the larger tip.
Rock, gospel, worship, and any live setting where you need volume and warmth. Barrel tips fill a room better than round tips. If you need tight, articulate definition for studio work, go with round tips instead.

Hickory is the sweet spot — denser than maple so it doesn't snap under hard play, lighter than oak so it doesn't fatigue your wrists. Natural shock absorption means longer sessions with less strain, and every pair feels consistent.

So far, so good! These sticks feel and play great! - Mark
I love these things. They make me feel connected to the kit and give me feedback better than other brands I've tried. They are the only sticks have bought all year. And I got a 6 pack because I'm that confident and they really do last a long time so a 6 pack will last a while my more casual yet thrashy playing. My 5B's are awesome
Great product, durable and reliable
TL/DR: Solid overall for what I think the stick is intended to be. Overall, a much better offering than I was expecting from a new player in the market. Bear in mind I only bought three pairs of 5B longs, here’s my review: From a quality standpoint: overall more consistent than what you would find off the shelf at a music store. Sticks were free of any warping. Pitch balancing was very close, but not perfect. All three pairs were reasonably similar in pitch. Each pair did feel fairly different than the others. One was slightly lighter, one had slight unpleasant vibration, and one was very good overall. From a design standpoint: they feel fairly similar to a Vic Firth Chris Coleman signature stick, or a Promark Fire Grain 5B. Weight is biased slightly front-heavy. Overall feel in the hand is comfortable, and the finish is not slippery. Short taper contributes to the front heavy feel. Elongated beads produce a full sound.
The extra length on the 5B long made a bigger difference than I thought! Sticks lasting way longer than usual too!
Played 2 , 2 hr shows and I’m a heavy hitter! They held up great and feel really nice in my hands ! I first went with 5B long , barrel tip but I’m gonna try the 5A long due the extra length Great sticks , great customer service and very easy to deal with ! Go WOODIES !! Absolutely love every aspect of these sticks! The weight, grip and barrel tip made for outstanding feels all around! Highly recommended!
All I can say is that the feel, the balance, there durability and the sound when playing is the best. I will not be using any other sticks from now on.
I used Woodies for the first time last night and all I gotta say is... WOW!!! I've been playing for 30 plus years and I can say these are the best sticks I've ever played with. I was shocked how good they felt in my hands. Very balanced well made sticks. Next show I'll definitely send a video.
I’m using Woodies sticks at a Christian conference I’m playing in and the response I’m getting is great. The balance, and feel is what you want in a stick. Love them.
Just damn good well balanced sticks! Tough ass Hell but does not feel tough if that makes sense ???
5 of the 6 pairs were between 58 and 60g each. Perfect for tossing 5 pairs into my gig bag. I mean who really only puts one pair in their bag. Not any gigging drummer I know. So, the 6th pair was only 54g each and noticeably lighter and not as straight. I had hoped to throw all 6 pairs in the bag, but the one pair didn’t make it. I hope, and have hoped for many many years, that stick makers would make sure when a customer orders 6 pair or 12 pairs, they are all in the same weight range. But 5 outta 6 ain’t bad. Love the sticks though. Best feeling sticks I’ve ever used, and I’m going on 40 plus years of drumming.
The only lasted 2 days.
Feel and weight is perfect for.
Im Dr. LuvBeatz I play in Touring Rock Reggea band TreeHouse! I love woodies cuz there so thick I dont have turn them around.
These have become my new favorite drumsticks. I’ve been using Pro Mark drumsticks my whole career. I usually throw my sticks into the crowd when I’m done, but I’ve become very stingy with my Woodies. I’m hooked.
Love em, strong sticks
I like the feel of them. But unfortunately they didn't last, received them May 18th, I play 1 to 2 days every weekend. Switching between these are your 7a nylon longs....just broke tonight with no warning. Price is a plus but other brand last longer.
Love them
Great sticks and amazing feel
Great Sticks!! WOODIES....5B 🔥
Love the Length!
The sticks feel great so far! I plan on getting more.
Just got my 5B Long Barrel Tips in the mail this weekend, and they are excellent. Great weight distribution across the entire stick, the overall weight is perfect (not too heavy, but a good amount of backbone), and the barrel tips deserve a chef's kiss.
First pair i gave out at the show.
Love the hat and the barrel tips like the round and nylon tips are amazing, durable, balanced and feel great in the hands
Love them after switching off Pro Mark Shira kashis
Thank you very much! Great sticks! I love Joe Velocci
I like the way they feel, but I haven’t been able to really let loose with them. But I will soon. Then I will be able to give a better review. Thanks for reaching out to me. KSC……
Amazing as always.
I love these drumsticks I have ordered 2 sets of three and still on the first pair vey good quality and feel great in the hands
The sticks are great. Played a gig with them last weekend. Really liked the weight and balance and the tip shape seems to make a positive difference in rebound off my ride. Been using Vater 5B’s forever but I like these better.
Sticks feel balanced and equal weight. Is there any pitch matching in between pairs?
These are great drum sticks. The weight and balance is consistent. The length provides a little extra reach which is always a plus. These are definitely an all around great choice for a lot of playing situations.
I found my new favorite brand of drumsticks. Will be ordering more soon.
these sticks Rock I love them
Tough stick lasted 2 shows and 2 rehearsals so far
Great sticks, so far. They are heavy, dense and of course a bit longer. I have only been using them on the practice pad at this time.
Perfect weight, size and price ! Did my own experiment between promark and vic. You feel the difference. You’ll be impressed. Bless you woodies 🙏🥁
