The 7A is thinner and lighter than the 5A ā 0.56" diameter vs 0.57". That slim profile makes them faster and more responsive, perfect for drummers who prioritize finesse and speed over power. If you play jazz, soft rock, or light genres, the 7A is your stick.
Jazz, brushwork, soft rock, R&B, gospel, and any style where touch, speed, and dynamics matter. The 7A excels wherever subtlety and control are more important than raw volume. Studio work and low-volume practice also feel incredible with a 7A.
For high-volume genres like metal or hard rock, yes ā the 7A isn't designed for that. But for most styles, the hickory's natural density at 0.9 g/cmĀ³ gives you enough volume and projection. If you need more punch, the 5A or 5B are your next step up.

I really liked the sticks, but for me personally, they felt to similar to the 5As in weight, feel, and size.

I love these sticks! Great balance, great feel and superior durability. Iāve played Vic Firth for the last 30 years and have now switched to the Woodies.

These sticks are flawlessly balanced. Gauge is perfect. It weighs as much as Vic Firth Ralph Hardiman. If you play hard, need a weighted stick while maintaining using a smaller stick, this is the joint! The even gauge keeps you from having to flip and play with the back end to get a hard hitting sound or a hearty cross stick.
Woodies 7A Long drumsticks feel a bit heavier than other 7As on the market. Yet their small round tips make for lower overall volume and great responsiveness, especially on ride cymbals. I'll be ordering more!

First time playing with these sticks was amazing! I got a pair of 7A long and I'm loving that extra reach. Having big hands, sometimes I feel like my sticks are to small but these fit perfectly.
Always played Zildjian Dennis Chambers signature 7-Aās, and the Wooodies 7-A is just as good, but at much better price point. Will be buying Woodies sticks for all future purchases. Great product!!!!
So far, so good! I ordered the 3 pack to test them out. I really like the feel. No warping. Great balance. Solid wood. I'll write another review after my gig this weekend.
The 7a longs are amazing. Perfect feel and length. I have enough of the 7a longs because I brought a brick. I want a brick of the 5a longs now.

Nothing wrong with the sticks. I thought I would give the round tips a chance. I came to the conclusion that, I just don't like wood tips. They lack the definition that I get from nylon. To be honest, I'm not a fan of barrel-shaped tips either, but there are very few options for round nylon tips. (Hint, hint) lol

I purchased a 3 pack of 7A round tips a few weeks ago. Wrote a quick review but had not used them on a gig until this past weekend. Iām very impressed! They felt great and actually made it easier to perform. Great response and at the end of the night they still looked unharmed! The longer length was very helpful. I think that Iāve found my new āgo toā stick. Great product and company.
The weight and feel are awesome and very consistent. And very durable.
The stick is much more dense and heavy than any 7A Iāve ever used. The tip was also much bigger than it seemed in the pictures. Just not what I wanted.

Thank you for exchanging the barrel tip for the 7A round tip. They feel balanced and quick which is great for jazz. I use your 5A barrel tip for rock & country which also gets a great cymbal definition and cross stick tone because of the hickory wood's dense properties.
They look and feel really good. Looking forward to using them on my next gig. I will let you know more after that.
